Beretta USA has confirmed on their Facebook page, that the M9 will remain the US Army sidearm for the next five years. The US Army has purchased an order up to 100,000 M9 Pistols.

Why are they still using the 9mm, so stupid. They need to be using a 40 or a 45.
Because it’s a NATO round. The decision to switch to the 9mm from the venerable .45 acp had more to do with politics than ballistics.
Because of politics !! The 9mm is a piece of Camel Dung ,You shoot a dude 8 times then beat him to death with the pistol .. Nothing beats the 1911 45 for stoping a man ,you can actually walk a fool backwards with each shot
The 9mm is the best weapon the military can have and use
best for close combat and very effective
way back in 1911 the US Army / Marines compared the .38, 9mm parabellum and the .45Acp 100 years later the .45 is still the premiere pistol in the 1911 /A1 colt pistol. But seems like they can’t read the writing on the wall. Surely we don’t still owe Italy a favor.
